Baltic Region is made up of four countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland, with total population of around 46 millions, and situated in North Eastern Europe with a coastline along the Baltic Sea, geographically, politically and economically lays right in the middle of Russia and European Union. In the past 15 years since independence Baltic Region has made a rapid transformation from a Soviet command economy to the free market and has been invited to join European Union on 1st of May 2004.

United Kingdom is made up of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with total population of around 60 millions. It has a long history as a major player in international affairs and fulfils an important role in European Union, United Nations and NATO. The economy - one of the largest in the world - is no longer manufacturing but services-based, with e-commerce of growing significance. The City of London is a global financial centre.

Baltic Link was formed in 2004 as a direct result of a recognised gap in cost effective and flexible solutions and constantly increasing volume of communication between these two highly important regions of European Union.
